Expectations. Media tells us everyday how we should act, look and even feel about things. We all want to fit in, but where do we draw the line at changing ourselves to impress others?  Learning to be happy with yourself is the best lesson you can learn and as a company we plan to portray this through the use of musical theatre. Our aim is to really get you all involved in the action. Making you see that you don’t have to live up to expectations set by society.

Our aim as a company is to breakdown societies views of how people should behave when it comes to living their own lives. Throughout the years society has constructed the idea that we should all look and behave in a certain way in order to "fit in". Our aim is to break out of this box that society has tried to place us in with the help from theatre and any form of art. Open Eyed theatre are hoping to show how irrelevant these views are and that no matter what you look like or how you act it is okay, it is important to be true to yourself  and respect others. We want to show that as long as you have respect for others, love for yourself and kindness in you heart that is all that matters.

The reason for using art as our outlet is because art is accepted for what it is , art. There is no wrong or right in the art world and people can express themselves however they choose. Creating events that not only students but everyone in the community to come along and perform to an audience though speech, poetry, song whatever is appropriate to the event and the performer, will support us in spreading that message about self-love and celebrating everyone around us and who we are.
